Bhubaneswar: The State Assembly on Tuesday mourned the death of former Minister Harihar Karan and conveyed condolences to his bereaved family.
Bringing an obituary reference, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Bikram Keshari Aruk said Karan had represented Dashapalla to the State Assembly six times. His death is an irreparable loss to the State and his family. Karan died on February 4 at the age of 72.
Opposition Chief Whip Tara Prasad Bahinipati, BJP Legislature Party leader KV Singh Deo and Speaker Pradeep Kumar Amat expressed deep grief over the deaths.
A one-minute silent was observed for the departed soul.
