SSB constable thrashed with shoes for misbehaving with woman

Bhubaneswar, Feb 17: A constable of the special Security Battalion (SSB) was thrashed by a young woman here at Kalpana Square for misbehaving with her on Sunday. The accused, identified as Pramod Behera of Golanthara area in Ganjam district, was arrested following the incident and subsequently placed under suspension, police said today. According to police, the incident took place last afternoon when the victim was on her way back home near Kalpana Square. The accused tried to outrage her modesty finding her alone on the street. As the young woman shouted for help, locals gathered and overpowered the SSB constable. Later, the victim thrashed him with her shoes in public and some passerby women joined her in thrashing the accused constable. On being informed about the incident, capital police rushed to the spot and took the accused into custody.
