SRC asks Collectors to remain alert as heavy rains predicted in Odisha for next three days

Bhubaneswar, Aug 23: The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has asked collectors of all districts to remain prepared to meet any waterlogging, localized flood and other exigencies in view of fresh low pressure on the Bay of Bengal between August 24 and 26. The SRC has asked all Collectors to closely monitor the situation with continuous vigil of low lying areas. Besides the SRC has also asked to ensure functioning of control room round the clock. According to the Met department, a fresh low pressure area is likely to form around August 24. Under its influence, several parts of Odisha will experience rainfall activity for around three days starting tomorrow. Several parts of Odisha including Puri, Balasore, Kandhamal, Boudh, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Angul, Mayurbhanj and Dhenkanal will experience heavy rainfall today, it said.
