Bhubaneswar, Sep 4: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has upgraded Electromechanical Station Master (SM) slide system at Solari railway station in Khurda Road Division to panel interlocking system with operating cum indication panel. This system makes the operational procedure more reliable, quick, easy and safe with less maintenance of gears. Features of Panel Interlocking system: 1. In Station Master’s Slide system there are so many wear and tears, so it needs regular maintenance, but in the Panel Interlocking system wear and tears are negligible so needs less maintenance. 2. In the old system there is a separate Indication panel, but in Panel interlocking system, indication has been provided in the operating panel itself. 3. The new system operates Signal system faster than the old one and easy to monitor. 4. It is safer than the old system and user friendly during train operation
