New Delhi, Jan 20: Decks were cleared for the execution of four convicts in Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case with the Supreme Court dismissing the special leave petition (SLP) filed by Pawan, one of the convicted, today. Pawan had filed the SLP in the Supreme Court praying for excluding him from the death sentence claiming that he was a minor at the time of occurrence of Nirbhaya gang rape and murder. The apex court, however, rejected the petition saying that there was nothing new in the case and he was not a minor, as claimed. Pawan was a major at the time of occurrence of the incident, said the Supreme Court while dismissing the SLP today. This order paved the way for execution of the death warrant of the four Nirbhaya convicts on February 1 at 6 am.
