Six poll officials axed in Bargarh

Bargarh: Acting tough, Bargarh Collector-cum-District Election officer today suspended six officials for dereliction of duty.

Based on inquiry report following allegations, the Collector placed three presiding officers – Umashankar Panigarh, Priyabrata Sahu and Ratam Sethi and three sector officers – Manoranjan Panigrahi, Prashant Sethi and Pradip Pradhan – under suspension.

Notably, Bargarh parliamentary constituency went to polls on Thursday. Elections are being held in Odisha in four phases on April 11, 18, 23 and 29. Elections are being held simultaneously in all the 21 Lok Sabha and 157 Assembly seats.
