Bhubaneswar: At least six Fire Services personnel were suspended in different parts of the State for dereliction of duty and indiscipline behaviuor.
Soruces said two Fire Services personnel each in Chitrada, Daspalla and Baliapala areas were put under suspension as they did not rush to control fire mishaps due to their ongoing strike.
Notably, around 3,000 Fire Service personnel of Odisha Fire Services have gone on an indefinite strike demanding immediate fulfillment of six-point charter of demands.
Their strike resulted in the death of a three-year-old boy who drowned in a well at Dakoi village under Morda block of Mayurbhanj district yesterday, the sources said. On Monday night, a similar situation prevailed in Srirampur of Nayagarh district where five houses were gutted in a major fire and local Daspalla fire station sleuths did not rush to the spot to douse the flame.
