Rayagada, Sep 23: Retired workers and employees of Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Limited (Imfa) at Therubali in Rayagada district have alleged that the company is yet to pay their pending dues, even after years of their retirement.
Nabeen Lima of Khedapada village has claimed that he was working as an operator at the company. He had worked at the company for over 30 years and got retired from his post in 2015.
The company had paid him Rs 2.25 lakh at the time of his retirement.
“The company has to give me Rs 15 lakh. I have asked senior authorities of the company in this regard, however, I have not been paid the dues,” he alleged.
Lima is currently running a chicken centre to meet his daily needs.
Similarly, Bikram Hikaka, a resident of Dumuriguda village also alleged that Imfa is yet to give him his pending dues.
Hikaka, who retired from his post in the year 2007 was only given Rs two lakh during his retirement. Imfa is yet to give Rs 12 lakh due amount, he alleged.
“ I will hold discussions with the company authorities, labour department and the retired employees and workers and action will be taken accordingly,” said SC&ST Development Minister Jagannath Saraka.
