Seafood is any form of sea life regarded as food edible by humans. Seafood includes various types of species like molluscs which include clams, oysters, mussels, etc; cephalopods like octopus and squid; crustaceans like shrimps, crabs, lobsters, etc; also includes sea weed or Nori which is widely used in Japanese food items like the Sushi. Seafood has distinctive characteristics when prepared with right ingredients and controlling the temperature food dishes.
The coastal line of Odisha is roughly 485 kilometres, thus people staying along the coast line do consume lot of fish, crabs and variety of crustaceans. Hotels, resorts, and restaurants along the sea and especially along the marine drive (Puri to Konark). At the moment Lotus Eco Resort which is situated along the Konark-Puri marine drive is offering sea food festival. It is till the 13th October, 2019. All their seafood is from the local catch from the delta near Ram Chandi. The offerings are curries, fries and grilled: with various crustaceans and fish which are prepared using a variety of spices taking the cue from Odia cuisine. Dishes like crab curry, fish fry and various other styles of seafood preparations are been incorporated in the menu offering. The dining is a treat as you face the sea and have your food. The menu has been designed by Chef Sunil and the recipe is followed to the hilt.
