Bhubaneswar: In view of incessant rains, the district Collectors of Cuttack, Ganjam, Gajapati, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Puri and Dhenkanal have declared closure of all schools, both Government and private, in their respective districts for today.
However, they have asked all teachers and employees to remain present in schools during the working hours on the day.
Notably, a low pressure formed in the Bay of Bengal has triggered rainfall in most of the places in the southern and coastal regions of the State. Situation is such that it has been difficult for people to go out of their houses in the aforesaid eight districts.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Regional Office, Bhubaneswar has also predicted that heavy rainfall will continue to occur in southern and coastal districts in the next 24 hours.
