Bhubaneswar: Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched the SATAT initiative today.
“By 2023, we have aimed to set up at least 5000 CBG plants in the country with an expected investment of over Rs 1.75 Lakh Crore. It will provide employment opportunity in various levels and also double farmers income, besides empowering and making us self sufficient,” said Pradhan.
SATAT is aimed to utilize waste to create clean fuel for transport sector, this unique initiative will help us address our waste disposal issue and also lower our dependence in import.
Compressed Bio Gas can be produced from around 200 different types of feedstock such as agriculture residues, municipal waste, urban waste and waste from forests. Being an agragarian state, Odisha has the opportunity to provide maximum raw material for production of CBG, added Pradhan.
