Sambalpur, Feb 8: A sub-inspector (SI) from Ainthapali police station was suspended for a delay in filing a charge sheet in a case that led the accused getting bail.
The case in question is related to murder of a woman house owner by her tenant in Budharaja area of Sambalpur district.
Sambalpur district superintendent of police (SP) Dr Kanwar Vishal Singh on Saturday confirmed that Kishore Sahoo was served a suspension order.
The charge sheet being submitted late in the court was the reason why the accused got bail in the case. Therefore, a disciplinary action was taken against the officer responsible, said a senior police official.
