Bhubaneswar, Oct 22: The Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) will remain open from 3 pm to 5 pm on October 24 and 26 to facilitate registration of vehicles during Dushara holidays.
The RTOs will also approve registration of NTV vehicles done through dealer point on all four days on work from home basis.
“It is expected that a large number of sale of motor vehicles would occur during the auspicious Durga Puja. As per Rule 42 of CMV Rule 1989, no dealer can deliver any motor vehicle without its registration and without affixing HSRP number plate. Since, there are four government holidays from October 23 to 26 (four days) on the occasion of Durga Puja, it might be a difficult situation for the dealer to get their newly sold vehicle registered at RTO offices,” read an an order issued by the State Transport Commissioner-cum-Chairman.
“In no case the dealers should deliver any new motor vehicle violating Rule 42 of CMV Rule 1989, without registration and without affixing HSRP number plate. All RTOs are instructed to check the dealer premises and ensure that, no vehicle is delivered without registration and affixing HSRP In case the dealer is delivering the vehicles without registration without affixing HSRF then steps shall be taken for cancellation or suspension of the trade license of the dealer,” the order further stated.
