Rs 8126 cr suppl budget for 2019-20 presented; 2623 cr allocated for infrastructure and industry sector together

Bhubaneswar, 13/11: Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari today presented in the assembly Rs 8126.31 crore supplementary budget for 2019-20. A sum of Rs 2623.35 crore was allocated for infrastructure and industry sector taken together. Briefing newsmen after presentation of the supplementary budget in the House, the Finance Minister said,a sum of Rs 527.40 crore was allocated in the supplementary budget for the farmers' welfare and food security and Rs 501.56 crore for social measures. A provision of Rs 190 crore was made for payment of insurance premium under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and Rs 185.52 crore was provided for distribution of rice at the rate of Re 1 per kg. A sum of Rs 120.28 crore was provided towards cost of intra-state movement and handling of food grains while Rs 10 crore was allocated for consumer awareness programme. Pujari said a sum of Rs 459 crore was allocated for public health care and Rs 260.90 crore for empowerment of women and child development. Similarly, Rs 114.70 crore was provided under Tribal Sub-Component and SC Sub-Component, while Rs 1073.03 crore was allocated for education, sports and skill development sector. The total allocation of Rs 948.55 crore for rural development and Rs Rs 416.83 crore for urban development.
