Bhubaneswar: The State Government today announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh each for the families of deceased persons who were killed in landslide in Gajapati district.
Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Bishnupada Sethi said that 11 bodies were recovered. Six persons were still missing.
“Government will sanction an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh for the family members of victim,” said Sethi.
However, the death toll due to hillock collapse at Baraghara village of Gangabada gram panchayat under Raygarh block in Gajapati district rose to 15 after two more bodies were recovered on Saturday night.
And it is suspected that three more person have remained under the debris. Earlier, 13 bodies were recovered from the mishap site.
It may be noted that members of five families were believed to have taken shelter in a cave of the hill for safety before the Cyclone Titli hit the coast, but the hillock, after being soaked in rainwater for many hours, collapsed over them. So far, 15 bodies have been found from under the derbies. The deceased persons include six children.
