Rourkela: As many as three persons were arrested at Rourkela railway station in Sundergarh district today. Railway Protection Force (RPF) sleuths seized Rs 2.23 crore from their possession.
The accused are identified as Sanjay Gupta, Rajan Srivastav and Sunil Kumar.
According to reports, the accused robbers had looted a trolley bag containing gold jewelleries and other valuables worth Rs 2.79 lakh from a passenger travelling on Howrah-Porbandar Express at Chakradharpur railway division on January 19. Following which a case was registered under section 379 of IPC at GRP Jharsuguda on Jan 23.
On the basis of complaint, railway police started investigation and nabbed three persons in this connection.
