Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi today said that that ration will be available to the beneficiaries under both National Food Security Act and State Food Security scheme in the cyclone-ravaged Gajapati district in two advance phases.
“We will provide 50 kg rice per beneficiary to cover 90% percent affected families in the district,” said Padhi after meeting with the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here. Earlier in the day, Padhi visited Gajapati to take stock of the restoration work.
Process of distribution of ration will begin from tomorrow, said Padhi. The affected people will also get financial assistance of Rs 1,000 also initially. Besides, the beneficiaries will be provided with 2.5 litre kerosene at subsidized rate.
Padhi said at least 15 persons were killed in a landslide in Baraghara village of Gangabada gram panchayat under Raygarh block in Gajapati district, adding that three persons are still missing.
