Sambalpur, June 30: A woman, who reportedly jumped into Mahanadi river along with her three-year-old daughter, is yet to be traced even after 16-hours of frantic search.

According to reports, the woman along with her daughter had jumped into the river yesterday leaving her scooter, slippers and mobile phones on the bridge.

It is suspected that the duo has been swept away in floodwater, released from the eight gates of the Hirakud Reservoir.

The missing woman identified as Puja Agrawal, who was married in Kesinga and had returned to her paternal house in Sambalpur last week.

On Monday, she left the house at 11 am with her daughter. As she didn’t return home, the family members started searching for her and found the scooter, slippers and mobile phone on the bridge.
