Record number of visitors throng Adivasi Mela in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Jan 29: A record number of 2.5 lakh visitors have thronged the Adivasi Mela in just two days, officials said today. The mela kick started at Unit IV IDCO Exhibition Ground on January 26. Officials said that more than 1.5 lakh visitors thronged the mela on the first day. Officials said that traders have done a business of around Rs 1 crore in the first two days. Similarly around 200 foreigners from countries such as England, Russia, Japan, China and Switzerland have also visited the Mela. “As many as 262 stalls have been set up at the ground while tribal from 12 states are also serving their traditional food at the stalls. As many as 70 CCTVs have been installed at the venue as safety measure. People can visit the Mela between 2pm and 9 pm,” said an official.
