Realtor held for Rs 2.4-cr fraud

Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch has arrested DRM Infrastructure managing director Dhruti Ranjan Mohanty from Kolkata on charges of cheating customers of Rs 2.4 crore. 

Sources said he was arrested for not granting possession of a flat in Kalarahang area after taking Rs 2.4 crore from a woman.

Acting on a complaint of the victim, the EOW launched an inquiry and found Mohanty guilty.

After being produced before Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, North 24 Parganas, Barasat, in West Bengal, he was brought on transit remand to the State today and produced before the Designated Court (under OPID Act, 2011) in Cuttack.

He has been booked under various sections of the IPC along with section 6 of the Odisha Protection of Interest of Depositors (In Financial Establishment) Act, 2011.
