Rare fish worth over a lakh falls in net in Rajnagar

Rajnagar: A rare huge fish has been netted at Talchua coast in Rajnagar area of coastal Kendrapara district, triggering curiosity among the locals.

According to information, Madan Jagannath was fishing on the Talchua coast, when this rare fish fell in his net. Locals say it was  a “peacock fish” in local parlance. Its fins resemble the feathers of a peacock. Its approximate  value is expected to be  lakhs of rupees.

Local fishermen say that the value of the fish will be more than Rs 10,000 per kg. It may be sold at Digha of West Bengal at Rs two lakh, they say.
