New Delhi/ Bhubaneswar, Aug 1: Former Samajwadi Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh has passed away today in Singapore. He was 64. He was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Singapore for several months now.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen paid tributes and expressed condolences on the passing of the senior leader. “Deeply saddened to learn about the passing away of veteran leader & Rajya Sabha MP #AmarSingh. My thoughts & prayers are with the bereaved family. May his soul rest in peace” Naveen said.
Amar Singh was born on January 27, 1956, in Aligarh district in Uttar Pradesh. He was an alumnus of St. Xavier’s College and University College of Law, Kolkata from where he earned his LLB. He is survived by wife Pankaja and twin daughters.
