Bhubaneswar: The BJP has turned its focus to Odisha as a host of Union Minister are scheduled to visit Odisha ahead of the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections due on May.
While Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to address a rally in Bhadrak on February 17, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister is expected to visit Kalahandi two days later. At least 22 BJP heavyweights, including Giriraj Singh, Ram Kripal Yadav are expected to visit the State in near future to woo voters towards the saffron party.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi undertook three visits to the State and addressed three rallies in Khurda, Baripada and Bolangir while party president Amit Shah also visited the State twice and addressed two rallies.
On the other hand, AICC chief Rahul Gandhi also hit the campaign trail in the State by addressing three public rallies at Tamando in Khurda, Bhawanipatna and Rourkela recently.
Party president Basant Panda today informed about the launching of party’s Parivartan Sabhas and said the programme will continue in all the 147 Assembly constituencies till March 2.
