Bhubaneswar: Private bus services in Ganjam district continued to be hit for consecutive third consecutive day as the Private Bus Owners Association stuck to its decision not to ply their vehicles from the new bus stand at Haladiapadar on the Brahmapur city outskirts.
The association has been protesting the Government’s decision to shift the city bus stand to Haladiapadar. According to the owners, they would suffer huge losses and passengers will face difficulties as the new bus stand is located at a distant place.
The bus owners have stated that they will continue the strike till the Government has not withdrawn the decision.
Due to the bandh, daily commuters are facing difficulties to and fro Brahmapur, Chatrapur and other bus stands in the district, despite the fact that the administration has introduced Government buses on different routes and city buses in big towns.
