Puri: Normal life in the pilgrim town of police has been hit as the 12-hour bandh, called by the Jagannath Sena and supported by the Congress and the BJP, is underway since this morning in protest against the queue system introduced for devotees for darshan of Lords in the Shreemandir and seven other issues.
The activists have opposed the attack on journalists and demanded that all responsible for missing if the Ratna Bhandar keys be arrested soon.
During the protest, activists have broken the barricades erected for the queue system and sat on a dharna in front of the Singha Dwar. Adequate police personnel have been deployed in the town.
According to sources, police have taken Jagannath Sena convenor Priyadarshan Patnaik into preventive custody.
