Pulwama attack: CM announces Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia to families of 2 jawans

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh each to the family of the two martyred Odia CRPF jawans.

Two Odia CRPF jawans among nearly 40 CRPF jawans were martyred in a terror attack in Pulawama in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday afternoon.

Havildar Prasanna Kumar Sahu (CRPF 61 Battalion) of Shikhar village in Naugaon block of Jagatsinghpur district and Constable Manoj Kumar Behera of Ratanpur village under Niali area in Cuttack district among nearly 40 CRPF jawans were martyred on Thursday after an IED blast by terrorists struck a bus in which the jawans were travelling in near Goripora in Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier in the day, Patnaik spoke to the bereaved family members of two martyrs Prasanna Sahu and Manoj Behera over telephone and conveyed his deep sympathies.

The Chief Minister directed Finance Minister Sashi Bhusan Behera and Health and Family Welfare Minister Pratap Jena to visit the martyrs’ families.
