Bhubaneswar: Pruthvi Ballav Patnaik, son of late Chief Minister Janaki Ballav Patnaik, who was nominated Congress candidate for Begunia Assembly constituency will not contest the election.
Citing personal reasons, Patnaik expressed his unwillingness to contest the upcoming election. He informed Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee president Niranjan Patnaik about his decision.
Meanwhile, the OPCC chief said that they will soon decide on further steps in this regard.
Earlier, Pruthvi Ballav hinted at contesting the upcoming election from Begunia Assembly seat.
Begunia Assembly Constituency, which was the stronghold of Congress during the regime of late CM Janaki Ballabh, is now being represented by the BJD.
