Bhubaneswar: Protests erupted in the Assembly when Congress members raised the issue of setting up a permanent Orissa High Court bench in western Odisha today.
Raising the issue in the Zero Hour, Congress Legislature Party leader Narsingha Mishra targeted the State Government for not presenting the report of Justice CR Pal Commission in Assembly even after six years of its submission.
Justice CR Pal Commission was established to chalk out procedure for establishment of High Court permanent bench in western Odisha.
“It has been almost six years that Justice CR Pal Commission submitted a report on HC bench in western Odisha. The State Government is yet to table the report before Assembly. People are deprived of justice due to lawyer’s protest,” said Mishra.
Mishra demanded that either Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik or his representative make a statement in House.
