Bargarh, Feb 4: The bandh in Bargarh town demanding a city hospital entered into second day today. The locals blocked the road and staged dharana infront of the old district headquarters hospital (DHH) in the town for the second day on Tuesday demanding to convert the DHH into a city hospital. The denizens of Bargah town called a 12-hour bandh on Monday to press their long-standing demand of setting up a city hospital in the town. Local MLA Debash Acharya, district collector Jyoti Ranjan Pradhan and Superintendent of Police (SP) Padmini Sahu reached the spot yesterday and tried to convince them to withdraw the protest, but in vain. Later, they got into a scuffle with the police as the latter asked them to vacate the area. Vehicular traffic has come to a grinding halt due to road blockade.
