Private bus operators not to ply buses in Puri tomorrow

Puri, Feb 3: Private bus operators have called a 12-hour bandh on Tuesday following death of a driver. Around 200 buses will stay off the road across Puri town tomorrow, informed Sri Nilagiri Motor Employees’ Union. A driver was brutally thrashed by passengers on Thursday after he rammed the vehicle into a tourist bus on Puri Konark Marine Drive Road. Around 24 persons were injured in the mishap. He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. The association decided to protest following inaction of Konark police in the incident.
