Pregnant woman tests positive for Covid-19 at VIMSAR

Sambalpur, June 13: A 27-year-old pregnant woman admitted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla in the district tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday. The woman admitted in the maternity and gynecology ward of the hospital was shifted to Samabalpur COVID Hospital for Corona treatment. The woman having travel history to Goa was referred to VIMSAR Hospital from Rourkela on Thursday night. She showed Covid-19 symptoms following which her swab sample was sent for test on Friday that came positive. The entire maternity and gynecology ward has been sanitized and a PG doctor, a house surgeon, a staff nurse and an attendant who came in direct contact with the woman have been sent to a quarantine centre, said Dr Benudhar Pandey, VIMSAR spokesperson.
