Bhubaneswar: BJP MP from Balasore Pratap Chandra Sarangi is likely to be inducted as a Minister in Narendra Modi’s new Cabinet.
Modi will be sworn in this evening for a second straight term after his BJP’s landslide victory in the national election. Sources said the two-time MLA and first-time MP, Sarangi has received phone call from BJP president Amit Shah. Shah has also made calls to leaders who will be Ministers in the new Government.
Among the leaders who got the phone included Dharmendra Pradhan, Sushma Swaraj, Nirmala Sitharaman, Smriti Irani, Sadananda Gowda, Arjun Meghwal, Kiren Rijiju, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Piyush Goyal, Prakash Javadekar, Ramdas Athavale, Jitender Singh, Suresh Angadi, Babul Supriyo, Kailash Chowdhury, Prahlad Joshi and G Kishan Reddy, the sources added.
He has been invited to the PM’s home at 5 pm, before the swearing-in. Pradhan held Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry and Skill Development Entrepreneurship during the last Government.
