Bhubaneswar: Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today wrote to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik urging the latter to allot land for the proposed LPG bottling plant in Khurda.
“I have been informed that Odisha Government is not supporting in land allocation for Khurda LPG bottling plant. It is understood that the concept of Single Window Clearance has been implemented by the Odisha Government for encouraging investments in the State. However, it is regretted that this mechanism appears to be non-functional in the case of IOCL’s land acquisition for Khurda LPG bottling plant,” said Pradhan.
Shree Jagannath Temple Trust has offered IOCL a land 32 acre on outright sale basis in March 2016 for constructing a new LPG bottling plant at Somanathpur village in Khurda district.
Pradhan said, “An estimated investment of Rs 150 crore is getting delayed for past 19 months, even after full and final payment made by IOCL for the aforesaid land. Tender of all major works has finalised.”
“I request you to kindly intervene with the concerned authorities in this matter and direct them for issuance of necessary permission so that work for the project will start soon,” urged Pradhan.
