Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate police has issued notice to Odia film producer Sitaram Agrawalla in connection with a controversial poster of an upcoming move ‘Mr Kanhaiya’.
The poster shows the actor holding ropes tied to the neck of seven girls starring in the movie.
Sources said the producer has been asked to appear before police within seven days.
Social activist Linkan Subudhi on August 18 had filed a written complaint with the Mahila police station here demanding action against actor Tatwa Prakash Satpathy, popularly known as Papu Pom Pom, director Ramesh Rout and producer of the movie.
The poster, which went viral on social media last week, came in for severe criticism online, with many seeking an unconditional apology from the actor, director and the production house.
‘Mr Kanhaiya’ is set to release on September 2.
Meanwhile, pleading ignorance in the poster controversy, Papu Pom Pom on Sunday said that he was not aware who has released the poster. He also demanded a thorough probe into the matter.
