Bhubaneswar : Retired IAS officer Aparajita Sarangi, who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in New Delhi this morning, said she quit the administrative job as it is a limited work area and joined politics as it a very big platform to work for people.
Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP national president Amit Shah and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in accepting her to the party, Sarangi said that the State unit of the saffron party would work as a team and succeed in coming elections.
“I have very positive confidence in myself. We will work as a team and succeed,” Sarangi told reporters after joining the party. She said she joined politics as she wants to work for people a lot. “Administrative area is limited where as politics is a very big platform,” said Sarangi.
Earlier, Sarangi had joined the BJP in the presence of Shah, Pradhan, BJP national general secretary Arun Singh and State president Basant Panda.
