Bhubaneswar: Police personnel had entered the High Court campus with due permission from the court Registrar to keep law and order under control during the lawyers’ agitation yesterday.
Commissioner of Police (CP) Satyajit Mohanty informed this at a Press meet here on Tuesday. Mohanty said police personnel were deployed at the High Court as a law and order situation was apprehended. Police personnel would remain deployed there till normalcy is restored, he said.
“We have obtained permission from the High Court registrar to enter the court premises to keep law and order under control,” said Mohanty.
He informed that two cases have been registered in the yesterday’s scuffle between lawyers’ groups at the HC main gate. The CCTVs are being inspected for a proper investigation, he said.
It may be noted that members of the BJD Legal Front and the rest members of the lawyers’ association had scuffled over joining in court works at the HC entry point yesterday. In the incident, two persons were reportedly injured.
