Puri, Feb 16: An assistant sub inspector of police (ASI) working with Puri Town police station was trapped while taking bribe of Rs 3000 on Saturday. The ASI, Biranchi Raula was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance Bhubaneswar Division while demanding and accepting the bribe from one Bijaya Kumar Khuntia of Radhagobinda lane, Puri to exclude his name from charge sheet in a case. “His left hand washes and wash of the cotton rubbed over the surface of white paper piece thrown by the accused Raula gave positive chemical reaction. Raula has been arrested and a case has been registered in this connection. Further investigation in the case is continuing,” said a vigilance official.
