Ganjam: An FIR has been lodged against BJP’s Hinjili Assembly constituency Pitambar Acharya for allegedly misbehaving with an on-duty magistrate and police officer.
Acharya, who is also a prominent lawyer, is accused of threatening a poll flying squad appointed by the Election Commission for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
The BJP candidate allegedly misbehaved with the poll flying squad that stopped him for frisking while he was moving towards Hinjili on his SUV for election campaign on Friday. He also allegedly threatened them.
Based on a complaint filed by magistrate on election duty, a case has been registered at Aska Police station against Acharya.
Meanwhile, Acharya said that he will win elections even from jail. Acharya has fielded by BJP as its official candidate from Hinjili Assembly segment against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
