Bhubaneswar: People across the State saw the rare solar eclipse of the decade between 8.19 am and 11.29 am this morning.
Special arrangements were made at the Pathani Samant Planetarium here and the new Planetarium at Burla for people to watch the solar eclipse. However, due to slight rains and cloudy sky, people could not see the eclipse at Burla planetarium.
Reports said though the cloudy sky hindered scientist at planetarium here to see pictures of the eclipse, authorities brought images from other establishments and showed to them. A large number of people, including school and college students, gathered to see the solar eclipse.
People had been asked not to see the eclipse directly. They were advised to see it through black goggles. Notably, people had stopped eating cooking foods since last night as per restrictions. After the eclipse came to an end at 11.29 am. People took bath, conducted puja and cooked food.
