Patnagarh parcel bomb accused granted four day bail for his mother's last rites

Cuttack, Jan 22: Orissa High Court today granted four day interim bail to Punjilal Meher, the accused in Patnagarh parcel bomb blast case to conduct his mother's post-funeral last rites. His mother Indumati Meher was suffering from cancer and breathed her last on January 10. Subsequently Meher was granted parole of one day to perform last rites of his mother. The Orissa High Court, however, has barred Meher from interacting with the media. Groom Soumya Sekhar Sahoo and his grandmother Jemamani died following explosion of the gift while Soumya’s wife Reema was injured after the wedding gift in the parcel had exploded on February 23, 2018 in Patnagarh. Meher who was the English lecturer of Bhainsa College was subsequently arrested for the double murder.
