Parents flee Sishu Bhawan with body of Covid-infected boy

Cuttack, July 31: Parents of a 6-year-old boy, who died while undergoing treatment, fled Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Post Graduate Institute of Paediatrics (Sishu Bhawan) here, with his body today. The deceased boy was admitted to the isolation ward of the hospital and its antigen test had resulted positive for coronavirus. The concerned health workers found the patient and its parents missing this afternoon following which they conducted a search operation in the premises of the hospital but in vain. Later, the hospital administration filed a complaint at Lalbagh police station. The mother of the child had also tested positive for the deadly virus. The incident triggered panic among attendants and hospital staff at Sishu Bhawan – the largest paediatric health facility in east India.
