Bhubaneswar: A youth sustained critical injuries as two persons coming on a scooter fired at him from a close range in front of the Baranga Godisahi police outpost in Cuttack district early this morning.

The youth, identified as Sunil Sahoo, was working as a security advisor in a private educational institute. Sunil has been admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition.

While the exact reason behind the incident was yet to be known, it is suspected that past rivalry might have led to the incident. Police have registered a case and started investigation.
