Bhubaneswar: Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) Vice Chancellor SN Pasupalak today resigned from the post.
In February, Governor Ganeshi Lal asked the VC to go on indefinite leave over allegations of irregularities in the university. He was asked to go on leave by the Governor and the Chancellor of universities less than a month before Pasupalak retires to ensure fair probe into alleged irregularities in recruitments in the university.
Notably, the State Government had initiated vigilance inquiry against Pashupalak in December 2018, for his alleged involvement in corruption in recruitment for different posts in different Krushi Vigyan Kendras (KVK) after being directed by the Governor.
The inquiry was ordered on the basis of the allegations of former OUAT Registrar PK Jena that Pasupalak had manipulated records for personal benefit and published misleading advertisements for different posts in the KVKs.
However, the VC had denied of his involvement in any irregularities and also any enquiry started against him.
