Bhubaneswar, Feb 4: Poultry breeding centre of OUAT has been sealed for a period of three months, informed director of Animal Resources Development Department Ratnakar Rout. He also said that disinfection will be carried out in farm after 15 days and production of poultry will not be done in centre for next 1 year.
Earlier a report received from High Security Animal Disease Laboratory (HSADL) in Bhopal confirmed presence of H1N1 influenza virus in poultry firm of OUAT. The blood and excreta samples were sent to Bhopal laboratory following the death of chickens in OUAT’s research farm.
The authorities of OUAT had also culled thousands of poultry in the farm after outbreak of bird flu.
