Opposition ready with ammo to attack the government, ruling party to counter the offensive; assembly adjourned till 3 pm due to uproar by Congress MLAs

Bhubaneswar, 13/11: The Opposition BJP and Congress in the state assembly have chalked out their strategies to attack the Naveen Patnaik government during the month-long winter-session of the legislature, which began today.  On the other hand, the ruling Biju Janata Dal readied itself to counter the opposition offensive. Chief minister Naveen Patnaik, who presided the meeting of BJD legislature today morning, said,” “Whatever issues the opposition parties raise, we are ready to discuss in the House”. Sources said the ruling party members were asked to remain present in the House and effectively counter the issues to be raised by the opposition parties. The BJP legislators also met this morning to chalk out the strategies to corner the government. The meeting, chaired by the Leader of Opposition Pradipta Kumar Naik, decided to attack the government on various burning issues like the rise in atrocities on women, deteriorating law and order, death of Dharmasala PEO Smita Biswal, corruption and irregularities in the implementation of various government schemes. The Congress MLAS also met last evening under the chairmanship of Legislature Party leader Narasingha Mishra to discuss its strategies to be adopted during the month –long assembly session. Congress MLAs led by Tara Prasad Bahinipati stormed into the Well of the assembly because the Speaker did not allow to suspend the Question Hour and to discuss the issue raised by its leader Narasingha Mishra. As the noisy scenes continued, Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro adjourned the proceedings of the House till 3 pm. Today, the first supplementary budget for the current financial year is to be presented by Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari in the afternoon.
