Operation intensifies to capture leopard in city

Bhubaneswar: A team of forest department and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) led by City DFO Ashok Mishra intensified operation to capture the leopard, captured on the CCTV camera of a house near the airport, in Palashpalli.

A tranquiliser team of Nandankanan and Chandaka Wildlife Sanctuary were also present with proper equipment to capture it. The team is conducting operation by sealing the Old Airport Road.

The area where the wildcat was spotted is just a kilometre away from the residence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

In the CCTV footages, the wild animal can be seen jumping over the wall of the house and entering the building, located near the Biju Patnaik International Airport on Sunday night. Earlier, wild cats and jackals were captured from the operational area of the airport.
