Burla, Aug 5: Authorities of the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Science and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla has closed the OPD services after doctors tested positive for Covid-19.
According to reports, as many as 70 doctors including 38 doctors of medicine department have been quarantined.
Meanwhile, the hospital authorities have asked patients to avail telemedicine services.
Earlier the medical college has also restricted patient services after several cases of Covid-19 were reported from the hospital.
On July 19 the authorities of the medical college had decided to stop most of the patient services for a week in view of coronavirus scare. “We have asked our staff who have come in contact with the Covid-19 infected to remain under isolation. The institute is being sanitised at regular intervals,’ said an official.
