One killed, one injured as under-construction building collapses in Bhubaneswar airport

Bhubaneswar, Jan 25: One person was killed and another one injured after the roof of an under-construction building collapsed here in the premises of Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA). The duo was identified as labourers who were carrying out construction works in the structure when the incident took place last night. The deceased has been identified as Antarjyami Guru of Badama-Narasinghpur area in Cuttack district and the injured one as Naba Kishore Swain, was admitted to Capital Hospital here. A portion of the roof, measured around 10,000 square feet, of the structure that was under-construction to connect terminal 1 and terminal 2 of the airport collapsed at around 11 am on Friday night. The rescue operation was completed after hours of joint effort by the fire personnel and Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF).
