One dies in grenade explosion in SOG training centre in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, April 7: One havildar died and atleast three others were injured after a grenade exploded at the training centre of Special Operation Group (SOG) in Chandaka on the outskirts of Bhubneswar this afternoon. Eyewitness said that the incident took place during a weapons training at the centre. “The grenade was about to blast in the hand of a trainee when the havildar came to his rescue. However, the grenade exploded injuring many at the spot,” said an eyewitness. The havildar identified as Prakash Sahu was rushed to the nearest hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Three others who were also injured in the incident are currently undergoing treatment at a city based private hospital.
