Omar Abdullah released after around 8 months in detention

Srinagar, Mar 24: Omar Abdullah was released on Tuesday after nearly eight months in detention. The former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister was detained along with hundreds of politicians in August last year after Centre announced abrogation of the special status to the erstwhile state on August 5. On March 13, his father Farooq Abdullah, also a former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, was freed.
